Bunded Oil Tanks
Environmentally preferred oil storage tanks complete with electronic tank gauge and a choice of top or bottom outlet.
Government legislation applies if you store more than 200 litres of oil above ground at an industrial, commercial or institutional site, or 2,500 litres at a domestic installation in Scotland or 3,500 in England.
The Main Requirements:
• The container or tank must be strong enough to hold the oil without leaking or bursting,
• A bund (as shown in the image of a bunded tank) or a drip tray must be provided to catch any leaking oil from the container or pipework
• The bund must be able to hold 110% of the maximum contents of the container
• The bund base and walls must be impermeable to water and oil, and regularly checked for leaks
