These pumps can offer the perfect solution in a refurbishment situation where you need to either replace a Grundfos UPS product or one of the smaller models from the original Magna family. These pumps are designed for circulating liquids in heating systems with variable flows where it is desirable to optimise the settings of the pump duty point, thus reducing energy costs. Description Applications and Industries Downloads General Description The MAGNA3 pumps are a range of small, medium and large circulator pumps fitted with electronically controlled motors based on permanent magnet (PM) and compact stator technology. With the MAGNA3, you can stop worrying about which pump setting to choose. Simply install the pump and leave it on the factory AUTOADAPT setting. The MAGNA3 will then analyse the heating system demands and find the optimal setting. It will then continuously adjust its operation to changes within the system demand. The result is optimal comfort and minimum energy consumption. MAGNA3 pumps are extremely flexible and reliable, and have low noise levels, long life and minimum maintenance requirements. They are fitted with GENIair wireless communication as standard and can also be expanded to offer extended control options with Communication Interface Modules (CIM). Description Specifications Downloads The most common cause of pump failure is dry running. Grundfos' dry running protection device, the LiqTec, stops the pump running, via the motor's contactor starter, if there is no liquid in the vicinity of the shaft seal. The sensor is specifically designed to be installed on the CR, CRI and CRN range of pumps where an auxiliary connection is available on the pump's top casting. Use on single pump installations only and not on packaged sets where alternative protection is normally provided.
